Positive RAT reporting

The SA government is making it mandatory to report positive RAT results on SA Health from Thursday 13 January. Once you have a positive RAT, it's no longer required to get a corroborative PCR result.

Social distancing

In an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the SA government has announced new social distancing measures.

From midnight on Boxing Day, new restrictions have been placed on hospitality venues, gyms and home gatherings.

One person per four square metres will be allowed for indoor dining while one person per two square metres will be allowed in outdoor settings. Only seated dining and drinking is allowed in hospitality venues.

Gyms have also reverted back to one person per seven metres.

The number of people permitted in a private home has been reduced from 30 to 10.

The government has stopped short of mandating the wearing of masks, though they are strongly recommended for all indoor settings outside your own home.
