“Flu-like symptoms” is a term often used by healthcare professionals to describe a collection of symptoms that may occur with influenza (the flu). They are also often associated with other illnesses, and are generally used to collectively refer to:
- Coughing and sneezing
- headache
- sore throat
- runny nose
- body aches and pains
- fever
- headache
- fatigue
The combination and the severity of the individual symptoms can help to determine or rule out the type of infection. Sometimes, these symptoms are just a passing sickness and a sign that your body needs rest. While sneezing and headaches aren't primary symptoms of COVID-19, a dry cough, sore throat, fever and fatigue could mean you may be infected.

Your symptoms may be relieved by getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty of fluids, keeping warm, avoiding smoking cigarettes, eating a healthy diet, and gargling with warm salty water. Read more tips here.
